| Vijnana Vihara Residentiol School was established at Nutakki Village ,Guntur District, A.P. in the year 1991-92 with the following aims and objectives |

To Promote educational, cultural, humanitarian, moral and patriotic activities and VALUES among students.

To bring forth the sense of ONENESS among the students and shaping them as good citizens of india giving more thrust on CHARACTER BUILDING. |
|
To popularise sanskrit and other oriental languages and practice of YOGA. |

The school has been recognised by Govt.of AP and is imparting education as per AP State syllabus in English Medium from classes 1st to 10th .The school is at present having a strength of around 700 students and 42 staff members .The school is having peramanent buildings with spacious class rooms, large play ground, staff quarters, hostel dormitories, kitchen and dinning hall-all spread over in an area of about 9.5acres of land .A two storied hopital building with a qualified doctors provides the immediate medical aid to the students and the staff.The school is having facilities for uninterrupted power and water supply and with good sanitation. |

OUR COMMITEMENT TO PTG 's : |

Our school had the privilege of being identified and selected as the BEST AVAILABLE SCHOOL (BAS) by the committee(consisting of the project Officer, ITDA, Bhadrachalam as the Chairman ) to provide good education to school age children of PTG 's(Primitive Tribal Groups) located in hill top hamlets in chinturu,Kunavaram, V.R.Puram and Velaripadu Mandals in Khammam District, A.P. The first batch of 19 PTG students was allotted to our school in January,2000 and the second batch of 26 tribal students were taken in the year 2001-2002.The present strenth of tribal students being taken care of by the school is 42. |

We conducted bridge courses and remedial classes to the PTG students to make up the academic deficiencies so as to make them fit in to the suitable clases to which they are eligible according thier age group.As a result, they could make up the loss of to three academic years. |
|
We frequently conduct various games competitions for the students of the school including PTG students with an aim to inculcate compititive spirit imbued with sportsmanship in them.The then Joint Collector of Guntur District, inspected our school and was satisfied to find the tribal students treated ON PAR with other students and hostel inmates in every respect. |

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT |
The main aim of the project is not only to provide the shelter and food for PTG children during the period of their education in our school but also to bring out suitable change in their behaviour so as to make them act as responsible citizens of our country,working hard with nationalitic spirit. |
|
| A few of the other importent objectives. |
|
To provide quality education, nutrious food and other facilities to the PTG students on par with other students of the school |
|
To arrange for special and intensive coching to PTG students to make up academic deficiencies and to make them fit in to the classes according to their age. |
|
To associate the PTGchildren with the main stream of the society by encouraging them to participate in various social functions. |
|
To persuade the well wishers of the school and parents of the day scholars,so that they invite PTG children to their houses on the eve of festivals and functions to make the children understand the culture and traditions of the mainstream of the society. |
|
To go to the habitations of the PTG's to motive the parents to join their childern in schools. |

To realise the stated objectives the school has to spend Rs 17000/- per annum on each PTG student of which Rs 8,000/- is being sanctioned by ITDA, Bhadrachalam as scholarship. for the balance expenditure of Rs 9,000/-,(per student per annuam) we depend on the financial help and encouragement of philanthropists like you. |
